Bad news for the Cherokee.
It still drives far better than it looks. But this morning, it seems the rear main seal let loose. I’ve never had an oil spot underneath it, but after being parked facing downhill for nearly a week, it wound up dumping oil. So now it seems that it does have an oil leak, and it’s only going to get worse unless I fix it soon. That $1,100 offer is looking better and better.
In other news, I found something that could be LeMons treasure:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
$4500. I bet you could get it for under $4k.
Stef? DustyVentures? I imagine they’d allow you a budget exemption for this one.

There’s no engine in the Parsh!* Plus, it has a Tiptronic transmission.
*guess you don’t have to worry about IMS bearings

wrong sort of repairable Porsche.
Wish I could find one of these that was mechanically sound, and not flooded, but maybe needed a bit of cosmetic freshening, and a damaged convertible top.
Warm weather mode: Speedster. NR Automobile, Suncoast, Dalavilla-style multi-piece speedster cover for 996/997.
Cool weather mode: Targa. GTN Automotive multi-piece targa hardtop, also for 996/997.
With the roof panels and windshield frame blacked out, like the 991 Speedster.
996 Carrera, or Carrera 4S wide body... either way. Or 997.1 if they get inexpensive enough.
I figure a cabriolet with a damaged top... might as well take the convertible top and mechanisms out entirely. ;-)
